Case study · Custom fine jewelry

Symbols Jewelers

Symbols Jewelers is a family-owned Myrtle Beach jeweler whose master jeweler designs and builds custom pieces on site. Custom work is a big, personal purchase, and people want to trust the craftsman before they reach out. Axiom built a dark, gallery-style site that tells that story and guides buyers toward a conversation.

The problem · 01

Custom work is hard to picture

Many shoppers have never commissioned a piece of jewelry and don't know how it works. If the process feels mysterious, they default to buying something off the shelf.

The solution

A page that walks through the process

The Custom Jewelry Design page explains, step by step, how a piece goes from first meeting to finished jewelry, introduces the master jeweler, and points out that designing, milling, casting and finishing all happen in the Myrtle Beach studio. A Request Quote button sits in the header on every page.

Buyers want to trust the maker

When the purchase is an engagement ring or an heirloom, buyers care about who is making it. A generic storefront doesn't show the skill and experience behind the work.

The solution

The master jeweler's story up front

The homepage introduces the European-trained master jeweler and his decades of experience, alongside sections on pieces for any occasion and the shop's work in 18k gold and platinum. Each section links deeper: to his story, to the portfolio and to the design page.

The problem · 03

A portfolio that lived in a drawer

A custom jeweler's best sales tool is past work. But years of one-of-a-kind pieces don't help anyone if customers can only see them by visiting the store.

The solution

A gallery of custom pieces

Axiom built a Jewelry Gallery page with a large grid of the shop's custom rings, pendants, earrings and bracelets, next to copy that invites visitors to get inspired and start a design. Phone, email and contact links sit right below.

Buyers come with lots of questions

Jewelry shoppers ask the same questions again and again: how to care for a diamond, what a term means, which birthstone goes with which month. Answering them one at a time takes up staff time, and leaving them unanswered loses trust.

The solution

A fine jewelry resource center

The Resource Center groups helpful guides in one place: diamond care, gemstone care, finding your ring size, a birthstone guide and a jewelry glossary. It's linked from the main menu, and each guide is its own page that can show up in search.

The problem · 05

Ring size worries stall a purchase

Not knowing the ring size is a common reason people put off buying a ring, especially when it's a surprise. Without guidance, they either guess or give up.

The solution

A step-by-step ring size guide

The Finding Your Ring Size page offers a downloadable, printable sizing chart, an on-screen size reference, and simple string-and-ruler steps for anyone who doesn't have a ring to measure. It takes a common objection off the table.

Online visitors still need to visit

Fine jewelry is usually bought in person. A website has to make the jump from browsing to walking in the door as easy as possible.

The solution

Map, hours and directions built in

The homepage closes with an embedded Google Map of the store, opening hours and a Get Directions link, followed by a Contact Us banner. The phone number and address also appear in the footer on every page.
