Santa's Village Christmas Drive

Santa's Village Christmas Drive started out as Project Christmas and collects gifts and donations every year for families across Horry County. A drive like this serves two groups at once, neighbors who want to give and families who need help, and both show up in a hurry once the season starts. Axiom built a WordPress site that gives each of them a clear path.

A new site, start to finish

There was no previous site to replace. Axiom designed and built this one from the ground up.

People want to help but don't know how

Holiday drives get a wave of goodwill every November, and much of it turns into questions. Do they want toys or cash? Where do I take a gift? Can I adopt a child? When the answers live in Facebook posts, some of that goodwill never becomes a gift.

The solution

Four clear ways to give, right on the homepage

Axiom laid out a 'How to Help' section that puts every option side by side: buy a gift for a drop box, adopt an angel, donate online, or get involved. Each card has a short explanation and a button that goes straight to the right page.

Donors want to see the drive is real

People give more readily to a cause they can picture. A plain page of text can't show the trailers full of gifts or the volunteers behind them.

The solution

A video and impact counters up front

Right under the hero, a short promo video sits in an Italian-flag band. Below it, four counters show years of service, families helped, gifts delivered and drop-off locations. Visitors get a sense of how far the drive reaches before they scroll any further.

The problem · 03

Cash donations meant checks and envelopes

Small charities often rely on cash jars and mailed checks. That works for neighbors who walk past the jar, but it shuts out anyone who would rather give from their phone in a minute.

The solution

An online donation form with one-tap amounts

Axiom set up a GiveWP donation form with preset amounts, a custom amount, an option to give anonymously and secure card checkout through Stripe. A donor dashboard lets returning donors look up their past gifts.

Families sign up in more than one place

Every Christmas drive runs into the same problem. Families apply with several organizations, the lists overlap, and volunteers spend hours sorting paper forms and phone messages.

The solution

A wish-list application that sets expectations

The Request Help page explains the rules up front, including the cross-check with other nonprofits, and asks families to agree before they apply. The form then collects parent contact details and each child's information and wish list in one place, so the team starts from complete applications.

The problem · 05

Event dates get lost in the feed

Santa visits and gift-trailer drives happen on set days at set stores. When those dates only go up on social media, they're buried within a day.

The solution

A real events calendar

Axiom added an events calendar that lists each upcoming appearance with its date, time, location and a photo. Visitors can subscribe so the dates show up in their own calendar.

Every year's work disappears after Christmas

A drive's best proof is the photos from past years, but they usually end up scattered across phones and old posts.

The solution

Photo galleries for every season

The site keeps a gallery for each year, going back to the Project Christmas days. New donors can see the drive at work, and longtime volunteers can find their own photos.
